End of the Challenge and What's Next

Today is the final day of the Ultimate Blog Challenge, where we post every day for the month of April.

So… how did I do?

Not quite as well as I had hoped, but I showed up for 23 days—and I’m good with that. It was a busy month filled with appointments and other commitments, so I’m calling it a win. More importantly, I’m back to blogging again after falling out of a routine, and that feels really good. The goal now is to keep the momentum going—maybe not daily, but at least a couple of times a week.

The next Ultimate Blog Challenge is in July, so if you’re a blogger, come join us. It’s a very supportive group.


What’s Next

What’s next for these two retired wanderers? (Because that’s what this blog is really about.)

We’ll be home for the next month, and there’s plenty here that needs our attention.

We have a trailer (or caravan, for my European readers) on a seasonal site, and we’ll be opening it up within the next week. I’m really looking forward to spending lots of time there over the next four months.

In June, I’m heading to Newfoundland for two weeks. If you’ve been reading along for a while, you’ll know it’s one of my favourite places. This time, it’s a girls’ trip—my sisters and cousin are coming along, and it will be their first visit.

In September, I’ll be off to Banff and Jasper for five days to celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. Another favourite spot!

And then at the end of September, we have a family trip planned with our three sons and daughter-in-law. We’ll start in Amsterdam for a few days before flying to Rome to pick up an Adriatic cruise. After that, the family heads home—and we’ll keep going… somewhere. That part is still to be decided.

That’s the plan for now. As always, we’ll see where the road takes us.

    You have a great itinerary planned Barbara, so very exciting! 23 blogs is great and congratulations. I think everyone is a winner in this challenge and I look forward to seeing what you've been up to when the July challenge rolls around. I managed to post each day, some were quite a challenge I must say!

This Past Week in Five Lines

Photo by Julian Hochgesang on Unsplash I have a busy few days ahead of me so I'm opting for a very quick post today.  This is a small glimpse into our past week since arriving back home.  This past week has felt very lazy - I've had very little energy to even unpack the suitcases. It's been so nice to reconnect with friends and family. It seems like my mother has aged 10 years since we left in January - she now looks every bit of 90 - and her energy is fading fast. I got some encouraging test results (I think) - results that calmed my nerves somewhat - lets hope the doctor feels the same way when I see her in a couple of weeks. We are trying to find a free weekend to visit our son and Daughter-in-Law in Virginia - we are retired now, it shouldn't be this difficult.
