Packing, Packing, Packing
Tomorrow we are leaving the snow and ice behind and escaping to warmer temperatures.
We are spending the winter in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, as we have done for the last three years. In the past we have left right after New Years. It was always a rush to get all the Christmas decorations boxed up and then try and get us packed for three months away. This year we have given ourselves an extra week and it's been far less stressful. Over the course of the last 10 days we have been able to take our time to do what needed to be done, appointments, shopping, and sorting. I've even managed to have a PJ day in there.
This year will be slightly different as I am starting off our time by going on a girls' cruise for the first week.
So, tomorrow I fly to Fort Lauderdale and Sunday John will fly to Punta Cana to get us set up for the winter. I think I may like this arrangement! I have already written out our first big shopping list so he can get everything stocked up before I arrive next week.
In the words of John Denver ...
Don't know when I'll be back again
I thought you were quoting "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver. It starts with "All my bags are packed; I'm ready to go."
ReplyDeletePacking is the worst part of taking a trip - for me. But hey, once you're gone, it's all good.
I wish you and your friends lots of fun, enjoy and soak up the sun!
Oh boy!! Am I sleep deprived or what! Yes, of course it was John Denver.
DeleteUgh, packing—the ultimate love-hate relationship, right? I feel this on so many levels. It’s like a game of Tetris mixed with a scavenger hunt for stuff you didn’t even know you had. Good luck, and may the packing gods be ever in your favor!
ReplyDeletelol. Love the Hu her Games reference. It certainly feels like it.
DeleteSounds like an awesome trip Barbara! Once they packing is done, all your troubles will be over! LOL Enjoy the warm weather.
