This is Barcelona - the tourism slogan for Barcelona.

The day we spent in here was gorgeous! The sun was shining and the temperature was around 22 degrees Celsius. It was likely the nicest day, weather-wise, that we had the entire month-long trip.

We've been here twice before and have explored a fair bit. I'll share in another post more about our past visits there. On this day we had no agenda other than to walk around the area around and enjoy this beautiful city.

We met up with our friends, Roger and Val, and walked, and talked, enjoying the weather and each other's company.

We enjoyed a leisurely walk along the beach and port area before stopping on La Rambla for a bite to eat.

It was a very relaxing, and enjoyable day.

Our Story
After decades of working, raising a family, and meeting life's many responsibilities, retirement opened up a new kind of freedom - the freedom to slow down, explore, and pay attention to the moments that make life meaningful.

How This Blog Began

We're John and Barb.
When we retired at the end of 2019, we set off on what we called our retirement trip - a two-month adventure that marked the beginning of this next chapter. Little did we know that while we were sailing the Atlantic and Pacific, the world was changing. COVID brought our travel plans to a sudden stop, and for a while, our world became much smaller.

Eventually, the roads opened again, and we found our way back to exploring - with a deeper appreciation for the experiences and moments that make each journey special.

This little corner of the internet began as a way to document our travels, but it has become so much more. It is a collection of the places we've been, the experiences we've shared, and the moments that remind us how fortunate we are to have the time to slow down and enjoy this stage of life.

Why We Write

We write because memories have a way of fading. The photographs may remind us where we were, but the stories bring those moments back to life. This blog is our way of preserving those memories and sharing the stories behind the pictures.
