Trip Planning

We have been trying to book a trip for a couple of years now.  After our kids graduate University or College, we take a family trip.  Our youngest son graduated during COVID and since then we've been trying to book his grad trip.  A lot has happened since, including his marriage.  Since his wife is American he is in the process of obtaining his Green Card.  It's taking longer than expected, so what was supposed to be his grad trip is now a trip for the rest of us as they are still unable to join due to the ongoing immigration process.

John, our two older sons and I, are still going to take a big trip this Fall.  In trying to plan, somewhat last minute, our options became more limited.  We began looking at different possibilities, and, in the end, we are so excited with what we've been  able to arrange.

Our itinerary is as follows:
October 23 we fly to Munich
October 24- 27 we will explore Munich.  One of these days we plan on taking a train for the day to Salzburg
October 27 we board an Emerald River Cruise on the Danube.
October 28 - Passau
October 29 - Cresky Krumlov, Czech
October 30 - Melk - Weissenkirchen
October 31 - Vienna
November 1 - Bratislava
November 2 - Budapest
November 3 - we end our river cruise in Budapest
November 4 - we will take the train to Prague
November 5 and 6 - Praugue
November 7 - Boys fly home, John and I fly to Rome where we will board a transatlantic cruise with Norwegian Prima
November 8 - Florence/Pisa
November 9th - Cannes, France
November 10 - Barcelona
November 11 - Palma de Mallorca
November 12 - Alicante, Spain
November 13 - Malaga, Spain
November 14 - Cadiz, Spain
November 15 - Lisbon, Portugal
November 16 - a much needed Sea Day
November 17 - Ponta Delgada, Portugal
November 18 - 22 - Crossing the Atlantic
November 23 - Arrive in New York City and disembark
November 24 - New York City
November 25 - fly home to Canada

Since we only booked this trip three weeks ago, we have a lot to plan and arrange in the next coming weeks.
Both boys needed to renew their passports.  One has since come in.  The other is still processing.
4 flights to Munich - booked
2 hotel rooms for Munich
4 train fares to Salzburg
2 hotel rooms in Budapest
4 train fares from Budapest to Prague
2 hotel rooms in Prague
2 flights from Prague to Toronto
2 flights from Prague to Rome - booked this morning
1 hotel room in New York City
2 flights from New York to Toronto.
And many hours will be spent researching each destination to decide what we want to see in each one.

For me, the planning is half the fun - though this time its a bit stressful as we are less than 5 weeks from departure.
